Business Profile

Welcome to Sugar Gurus I am an aromatherapist and beauty therapist passionate about all natural hair removal and beauty treatments. I believe that less is more, so I only use UK made, natural and organic products. These include Fresh Therapies natural nail polish remover, Akamuti natural oils, butters and flower waters. I specialise in sugaring hair removal and have over 10 years experience. After working in central London for the last 7 years, I am now based in Bromley, Kent and work from my cosy home therapy room.

I don't use any products that contain parabens, SLS, SLES, petroleum products, known carcinogens, harsh preservatives or any other hidden nasties.

Natural Facials Using UK made, Natural and Organic products. Skin analysis and professional advice by a fully qualified Sugar Guru beautician and aromatherapist is part of every facial.

Bespoke
Our bespoke facials include deeply relaxing, revitalising and therapeutic massage designed to be a gentle and non-invasive approach to improving the skin and muscles of the face.

These techniques work primarily by freeing constrictions both within the facial muscles and in the connective tissue of the skin.

Wrinkles and fine lines can appear due to the muscles being tense and the skin being under nourished and dehydrated. These combined can cause the skin to lose it's elasticity and suppleness, and eventually leads to sagging and a dull complexion.

Using these gentle techniques, many people have found it helps to delay the ageing process, and causes the skin to look more lifted and toned. Elasticity and suppleness returns and the skin regains it's natural glow.

In addition to the physical results, the treatment works to deeply relax both the mind and body. The face feels more mobile and the mind feels clear and alert.

Sugaring Hair Removal Unwanted hair is a common problem affecting around 80% of women (and men!) to varying degrees. There are various ways to deal with it. Sugaring is a natural alternative to waxing.

Sugaring is an ancient practice that uses a 100% natural paste of sugar, lemon and water to remove the hair follicle from the root.
Sugaring is effective on all hair types and is totally water soluble so you will never leave your treatment feeling sticky!
Sugar cannot stick to live skin cells which contain water. As sugar is water soluble it doesn't stick to them, this means less discomfort for you and less trauma to the skin.
Because sugar is much kinder to the skin, there is no damage to repair so it doesn't need any special pre or post lotions.

There are two methods of applying the sugar paste
By hand against the direction of hair growth. The sugar paste is removed in a flicking motion with the direction of growth.
By spatula in the direction of hair growth and it is removed with paper strips against the direction of growth. Both methods are equally effective.

How to prepare for your treatment:
Before your treatment please don't use any moisturiser
or moisturising body wash on the area to be sugared.
If the hair is very long it's a good idea to trim. Optimum length is about 1cm for ease of removal and your comfort.

Things to avoid after your appointment:
Perfumes/Scented creams/lotions
Deodorant if you had your underarms sugared
Heat, such as baths/steam rooms
Direct sunlight or tanning beds
Perspiration.Your excuse to skip going to the gym!

Between treatments
Between sugaring appointments it's important to keep the sugared areas exfoliated and moisturised, although exfoliation should not be done until 24 hours after sugaring.

Manicures and Pedicures Using lovely Natural & Organic sugar scrubs, essential oils, shea & cocoa butters and more.

Our manicures and pedicures are designed to hydrate, smooth and moisturise using only natural balms and butters.
We only use ZOYA Big5Free, Ultra Long Wearing, Toxin free nail polish. ZOYA is free from Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde resin and Camphor. We also use a completely natural nail polish remover by Fresh Therapies which is actually good for your nails, moisturising as it removes.

Holistic and Deep Tissue Massage Massage improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues.
It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints.

Holistic Massage (previously called Swedish massage) is the most common form of massage therapy. Holistic Massage is particularly suited to conditions involving stress, it is thought to help the body's stress response by lowering levels of hormones such as cortisol. Deep Tissue Massage focuses more on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue than Holistic Massage. The massage therapist uses a massage oil, wax or lotion to apply direct deep pressure or friction either along or across the grain of the muscles.

Reflexology Reflexology is the application of appropriate pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands, or ears. Reflexologists believe that these areas and reflex points correspond to different body organs and systems, and that pressing them has a beneficial effect on the organs and person's general health.

Natural Face Lift Massage Facial Rejuvenation is also called the Natural Face-lift massage. It is a deeply relaxing and revitalising massage designed to be a gentle and non-invasive approach to improving the skin and muscles on the face.
It works primarily by freeing constrictions both within the facial muscles and in the connective tissue of the skin.

Aromatherapy Aromatherapy Massage uses highly concentrated extracts of plants called Essential Oils, applied during a massage treatment after being blended in a light carrier oil or lotion. Aromatherapy works by stimulating the limbic system of the brain, which is attached the olfactory system (sense of smell). The limbic system controls emotions and influences the nervous system and hormones. The oils are also absorbed through the skin.
